RALEIGH — The line of thunderstorms that moved swiftly through the Triangle Friday night didn't last long, but left some lasting damage in its wake.
Wind gusts topped 60 mph, causing some trees to snap knocking down power lines and crashing into homes and cars. At the height of the storm, nearly 8,500 people were without power, but CP&L officials say nearly all power was restored by 3 a.m.
No injuries have yet been reported in this area.
