RALEIGH — Raleigh police want to alert area residents to a new scam -- thieves pretending to be city employees.
Officers say on Wednesday two Hispanic men talked their way into the home of an elderly couple. They pretended to be city workers checking water lines.
Police say the pair stole money the couple was saving to buy medicine.
Anyone with information about the robbers is asked to call Crimestoppers at 919-834-4357.
