Fire Damages Raleigh Office Building

RALEIGH — Fire investigators say they have not yetdetermined what caused a fire in a North Raleigh office buildingSunday night. They left the scene carrying some items late Mondayafternoon. No injuries or deaths were reported in that blaze.

More than 40 firefighters from two stations responded to the fire atGlenwood Professional Village off Glenwood Avenue. The building housesmedical offices, hearing aid dealer and tailor.

Dr. Robert Sager, a dentist who planned to retire soon, said he arrived Monday morning to find his office destroyed.

An unidentified witness reported the fire to 911 about 10 p.m. Sunday.Witnesses say flames were shooting high into the air and were visible fromseveral blocks away.

Assistant Fire Chief Earl Fowler says large fires are almost alwayseyed with suspicion, but that there has been no ruling on this one.

The investigation of this fire will continue.
