RALEIGH — A Raleigh man was wounded by a stranger who rolled down the window of the car he was riding in and fired several shots. The early morning incident occurred in the 3600 block of Atlantic Avenue.
Police say the victim, Clay Lamont Dawson, and a friend were leaving Plum Crazy's, a downtown nightclub when they maneuvered behind a new Ford Expedition to exit the parking lot. When they got out onto the street, the Expedition slowed down and a passenger in the back seat rolled down his window and fired several shots at Dawson's car. Dawson was struck in the left wrist and was not seriously injured.
Police say Dawson described the vehicle as a 1997 dark midnight blue Ford Expedition with five-star rims. Several other passengers were in the Expedition at the time.
Anyone with information on the owner of this vehicle is asked to call Raleigh Investigations at 919-890-3555.
