Police Officer Opens File for Racism Investigation

FAYETTEVILLE — A Fayetteville police officerwho accuses the police chief of racism is building his case. GregoryWilliams has opened up his personnel file to investigators.

The file reportedly shows that when Williams refused to provide thenames of other black officers who had racial bias complaints, he wassuspended and nearly fired.

The N.A.A.C.P. says that is not the only example of such behavior inthe department.

Fayetteville City Council is looking into the allegations.
