WARSAW, NC — Fire inspectors in Warsaw say they didn't know there were about 100 people living in a house that was destroyed Sunday by the actions of an arsonist. Three people died in the fire.
Investigators say if they had known the building was occupied, it would have been inspected more frequently. It was last inspected three years ago when it was only known to be used as a business.
The occupants all lived on the top floor of the building.
Three men are charged with setting the fire.
