Students Evacuated After Fire at Durham Middle...

DURHAM — Fire broke out after 11 a.m. Fridayat Carrington Middle School in northern Durham.

About 1,100 middle school students attent the school. Sources say thatall students were evacuated, but firefighters had the fire completelyunder control within 90 minutes. The Durham Fire Marshal says he thinksthe fire started with an audio tape player in the school's first floorgymnasium.

No one was in the gym when the fire started and there were no injuries reported.

The school is located off U.S. 501.
