CHARLOTTE — Advocates and opponents of a proposed graduated license program will soon have a chance to speak out on the issue. Community Forums will be held throughout the state to allow citizens to discuss the virtues and drawbacks of the program which would allow new drivers more privilege as they gain more experience behind the wheel. State lawmakers may reintroduce the idea during the new legislative session.
The first forum was held Tuesday night in Charlotte. The forum tour will wrap up in Raleigh at the North Raleigh Hilton on January 22, 1997 at 7 p.m.
