RALEIGH — A proposed adult nightclub in Raleigh is drawing the attention of City Council.
Two Florida men want to build a club, which will be called Rachel's, just outside Raleigh's northwest boundary, near the intersection of Highway 70 and Westgate Road. The site is currently undeveloped, although there are two adult book stores in the area.
Despite the location, some say a club that features partial and total nudity is a bad idea.
Raleigh City Councilman Marc Scruggs, Jr. says he's concerned.
According to David Permar, attorney representing Charles and James Veigle, the brothers who want to build the club, no misrepresentation was intended.
The Veigle brothers own similar clubs in the Orlando, Florida area. They have reportedly made several financial contributions to that community, but have had some adverse public reaction to their businesses.
