RALEIGH — The Wake County Waste Management Division is sponsoring the annual post-Christmas "Wrap It Up", the environmentally correct way to keep holiday waste out of area landfills.
The program helps to recycle tons of cards, boxes, catalogs, magazines and other items, and can even find final resting places for retired Christmas trees.
Cheryl Hannah of Waste Management says people should take advantage of this opportunity.
In Wake County, call 856-5597 for information on recycling holiday waste. In Durham County, the number is 596-1870. Orange County's number is 968-2800, extension 162, and in Chatham County, call 542-8254.
Last year, the program collected more than 16 tons of holiday waste.
