RALEIGH — Those who drink and drive over the comingholidays will be potential targets of the State Highway Patrol's new StateTroopers on Patrol", or "STOP", program announced Friday morning.
Colonel E. W. Horton says a squadron of troopers will be speciallyassigned to go after drunk drivers on North Carolina highways throughJanuary 5, 1997.
Troopers say the new program is a combination of public awareness andenforcement.
