Downtown Raleigh Grocery Store Burned

Posted December 12, 1996

— Investigators in Raleigh are trying to find the cause of a fire than destroyed a community store Thursday morning.

The Neighborhood Grocery Store, at the corner of Bloodworth and Lenoir Streets downtown, went up in flames.

Angel Bailey, who lives nearby, says people in the area really depended on the store.

Firefighters are still sifting through the rubble at the site, searching for clues to the fire's origins.
