<b>SILER CITY</b> — A Siler City woman faces charges incourt Monday for allegedly killing her 6-month-old daughter.

Police say Tara Womble's boyfriend took the child to the hospital lastmonth because, he said, the baby would not stop crying. The baby died thisweekend.

An autopsy showed the baby suffered head trauma and was abused beforeshe was admitted to the hospital.

Police say Womble confessed to abusing the child. She is being heldwithout bond.
