CHARLOTTE — A high-profile businessman may learn hisfate sometime Tuesday. A Charlotte jury is considering a landmarkdecision in the murder trial of John Hayes.
Hayes admits to killing his wife with a baseball bat, but says he is avictim of male spousal abuse. His lawyers say Hayes' wife drove him tokill her after years of abuse.
This is one of the state's first cases where the attorneys claim amurder was committed in self-defense involving male spousal abuse.
