LAURENS, SC — A mother of four returned home from anout-of-town trip to find her children dead. Investigators are looking forher estranged husband.
Johnny Satterwhite, 36, is the stepfather of three of the children andthe father of one. Investigators say they think the children, ages 10 to16, were killed in their sleep. Each was shot in the head and may havebeen dead for at least three days.
Neighbor Bette Dials says it was a great shock.
Neighbors became suspicious when the oldest girl failed to show up atschool Friday.
Laurens Police Chief Robin Morse says an entire communityis grief-stricken.
The children's mother found them Sunday when she returned from hertrip.
