print friendly

The 15-year-old Broughton High School student who was critically injured when struck by a car September 25 has been released from Wake Medical Center.

Frank Nicholson was walking to school with his sister and a friend when a car driven by William Rice drove onto the sidewalk and struck them, leaving Nicholson with severe head and internal injuries. He has been hospitalized ever since.

Rice faces a number of charges in connection with the accident, including DWI, possessing a fictitious vehicle registration and not having liability insurance. Investigators say he refused to take a breath test.

Nicholson has been placed in a rehabilitation center. His current condition is unknown.
