Fort Bragg Soldiers Home From Bosnia
Posted November 7, 1996
FORT BRAGG — Thanksgiving came early for some Fort Bragg soldiers and their families. Dozens of engineers who were stationed in Bosnia returned home Thursday.
The hugs, kisses and smiling faces told the story, especially for Sgt. Brian Jackson whose trip home meant holding his 5-week-old daughter Hannah for the very first time.
It is rare to see soldiers coming home this close to the holidays, but these families say it will definitely make their holidays more meaningful. Sindy Alexander, whose husband just returned, says there will be plenty of thanks this year.
Even though the timing is considered good, the soldiers were about 10 hours late getting in because of this morning's fog.
