Shooting Outside Rest Home Injures Two

— A shooting in the parking lot of a Chatham County rest home sent a man and woman to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

A Pittsboro man was sitting with his girlfriend and a child in the parking lot of the Old Kellers rest home. The man says he was unloading his gun when it went off. The bullet hit his hand then struck his girlfriend's leg. Both are at UNC Hospitals.

Police say the shooting was accidental.
