FAYETTEVILLE — Cumberland County detectives have madea arrest in connection with the murder of a man whose badly decomposed body was found in the trunk of a car.
Investigators charged 31-year-old Donnie Elton Smith of Fayettevillewith the firstdegree murder of Dealon Simmons.
Simmons body was discovered earlier this month in a field off HopeMills Road.
Deputies have not said what may have prompted the killing.
