Fort Bragg Officers Reprimanded

FORT BRAGG — Three Fort Bragg officers are being formally reprimanded after initiation ceremonies took on a fraternity hazing atmosphere.
In a tradition dating back to the 1940's, officers serving in their first airborne unit go through what's called a "prop blast" ceremony.
An Army investigation revealed some soldiers received electric shocks and were humiliated in last year's event held by the 35th Signal Brigade.
The 18th Airborne Corps has suspended all "prop blast" ceremonies, except those held by the 82nd Airborne which already has strict policies in place.
