Cab Driver in Serious Condition After Shooting
Posted September 25, 1996
FAYETTEVILLE — A driver for the Christian Cab Company in Fayetteville is in serious condition after having been shot in the neck while on duty Tuesday.
The suspect, who has been taken into custody, is a 14-year-old boy. His attempted escape was tracked by private citizens and staff at a school where he apparently tried to hide.
Investigators say the boy shot John Anderson in the parking lot of the Highland shopping center on Raeford Road in what appeared to be a robbery attempt.
Carl Lindsey, manager of Christian Cab, says driving a taxi is a job that's becoming increasingly dangerous.
