Cumberland County To Add 16 Crossing Guards

Posted Updated

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Getting to and from school will be a little easier for some Cumberland County walkers.

Cumberland County Sheriff Earl Butler is adding an additional 16 crossing guards. He had to cut most of the crossing guards from his budget last year due to budget constraints.

Butler said that because of complaints and the need for some guards at busy intersections, he will buy fewer vehicles and less equipment to pay for the added staff.
