N.C. Receives Federal Funds For School Safety

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — At a time when safety has become a paramount concern, there is some news that should ease the minds of some school parents.

Congress has approved more than $2.5 million in funding to put police officers in North Carolina schools.

Wake County will use its share of the money to hire 15 officers.

That means every middle school in the Wake system will have a police officer. Schools in Moore County and New Bern will also receive money.
