Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — Three employees from a local chapter of the American Red Cross have been forced to resign.

The board of directors at the Highlands chapter in Fayetteville looked into claims of mismanagement of funds by the chapter's executive director and two employees.

A two-month investigation did not find any money missing, but the board of directors decided to give the employees 30 days to find other jobs.

According to the Fayetteville Obsever, one board member says it is a personnel matter that does not need to be discussed.
