Local Firefighters Raise Thousands For FDNY Relief Fund

RALEIGH — On Monday, firefighters across North Carolina

collected money

to aid families of firefighters who lost their lives in the World Trade Center disaster.

Raleigh firefighters report a one-day total of $240,000.

The latest figure of donations for the FDNY Disaster Relief Fund collected by members of the Cary Fire Dept and Cary Professional Fire Fighters Association stands at about $189,000.

The Cary firefighters say they are still counting thousands of coins donated during their collection drive.

Money is also still being counted in the 21 other counties that participated in the the fund drive.

Donations are still being accepted at local firestations. You can also make a deposit at any bank for FDNY Disaster Relief Fund

The money will go to aid the families of the New York firefighters.
