SANFORD — A Sanford woman is dead after a two-car collision in Lee County Monday night.
The wreck happened around 9 p.m. along Highway 87, just three miles south of Sanford.
Wanda Gilmore, 37, was killed in the crash.
State troopers say Gilmore was driving southbound on Highway 87 when she lost control of the vehicle. She crossed the center line and was hit by a car in the northbound lane.
The two people in the other car were taken to the hospital, but their injuries are not life threatening. Investigators say rainy weather may have been a factor.
