ZEBULON, N.C. — Wake County sheriff's deputies found an abandoned tractor-trailer full of more than a ton of marijuana Wednesday morning.
Officials said that early Wednesday morning deputies saw a truck that was abandoned in the Triangle Shopping Center in Zebulon. The truck's engine was running, the lights were on and the keys were in the truck.
Deputies brought a drug-detecting dog to the scene and the dog indicated that drugs were in the truck.
Inside, deputies found 2,300 pounds of marijuana and 25 pounds of cocaine valued at $1,840,000 and $220,000, respectively.
Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident and are trying to find the owner of the truck.
At this time, there are no suspects.
The truck was a light blue Kenworth 18-wheeler with an aluminum trailer with a Texas license plate.
