Textile Firm To Add 50 Jobs in Rockingham County

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Textile company Innofa USA will create 50 additional jobs and invest $10.5 million to expand its operations in Rockingham County, Governor Mike Easley said Monday.

The jobs will be added over the next three years. The company already employs 24 people in North Carolina. Average weekly wages are expected to be $650 plus benefits.

Innofa USA received a $170,000 One North Carolina Fund grant as well as a match in local funds as an incentive. Innofa, which is based in the Netherlands, makes knitted products for mattress, furniture, medical supply and auto seat industries.

"We located our first U.S. plant in Rockingham County in 2003 because of the proximity to other knitting companies and the available labor there," said Rogier Droge, president of Innofa USA. "This location, our talented workforce, and the support we received from the state and Rockingham County have enabled us to grow our U.S. markets."
