RALEIGH, N.C. — A local group is making a big push to preserve open space in Raleigh.
"Friends of Dorothea Dix Park" want the 306-acre campus turned into a public park when the hospital closes in 2007.
An independent poll released Wednesday shows 89 percent of those surveyed support the park idea.
Sixty-five percent said they do not want to see any development on the land.
