Attorney Wants To Talk To Mike Peterson Before Civil Trial
DURHAM, N.C. — An attorney is headed to court to try and interview Mike Peterson in prison.
The Durham novelist is serving a life sentence for killing his wife, Kathleen. His civil trial will get under way later in June.
A judge already found Peterson liable. The latest trial is to determine the amount of damages.
Caitlin Atwater's attorney wants to depose him before the civil trial. Atwater is Peterson's stepdaughter.
A judge will hear the request next week.
