RALEIGH — The sluggish economy is expected to take its toll on some Triangle businesses this fall.
A new employment survey done by Manpower shows only 17 percent of Triangle businesses plan to hire more workers over the next few months. The numbers are even lower in Durham, where just seven percent of companies plan to hire.
At the end of last year, thirty percent of companies expected to hire more workers.
There is some good news for this year though. The survey shows 73 percent of major companies in both Raleigh and Durham plan to keep the staff they have.
