Faux Snow Helps Beat The Heat In Cary

Posted Updated

CARY — Every summer for the past 17 years, Mark and Linda Hollamon have had a party in a makeshift winter wonderland.

Each year, the Hollamon family tries to top the previous party, so this year they rolled out quilt batting all over the lawn, even on the roof, for a more wintery feel.

"This year, I've done the snow theme again, but this year I figured to really get big with it, do the whole front yard the whole nine yards. And if there is a summer party to come to, this is the one to come to because it's the biggest one yet," an ear-muff wearing Mark Hollamon said.

The Hollamons began planning for the party back in January. That is when they began hoarding decorations from after-Christmas sales.
