Hazmat Crews Clean Up Fuel Spill From Overturned Tractor-Trailer

RALEIGH, N.C. — Members of the Highway Patrol and hazmat crews spent the morning cleaning up a mess left by an overturned tractor-trailer.

The accident happened shortly before 1 a.m. on Highway 64 in Wake County near Bethlehem Road.

Investigators told WRAL the tractor-trailer hit a deer and ended up on its side. It took more than four hours before crews were able to clear the scene.

Hazmat crews cleaned up fuel that leaked from the truck. Authorities said the driver is OK.
