FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The search for a new Fayetteville city manager is moving forward.

The Fayetteville City Council reportedly hired a Minnesota-based firm to find candidates.

The Springsted company has placed managers in more than 10 North Carolina municipalities.

The firm's fee is $18,000 plus expenses.

Outgoing manager Roger Stancil is retiring in December. WRAL was told he and the city council had a falling out.
