Durham Jury Deliberates In Second Trial Of Accused Killer

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — The fate of an accused killer is now in the hands of a Durham County jury.

Gregory Lee is one of four men accused of killing his neighbor, Lois Cannady, in 2002.

The 89-year-old was shot to death while on the phone with a 911 operator.

Prosecutors have said that Lee was the ring leader in the shooting.

The defense argues he was scared and the other suspects bullied him to take part.

It's Lee's second trial. A judge declared a mistrial in September after jurors were unable to agree on a verdict.
