Robert Amerol was supposed to fly back to Raleigh Durham International Airport on Wednesday after visiting his grandparents in Oregon. His flight that day never got off the ground.
The next day, his flight left late and Robert missed his connection in Portland. After that, Horizon Airlines put him on a different carrier, but failed to tell his parents. For four hours, Deanna Turner had no idea where her son was, and he was not too sure neither.
"Communication, communication cannot be rude," said Turner.
"I was wondering why I was in Detroit and she said it's been changed or something," said Amerol.
For its part, Horizon Airlines says it followed policy for the most part pertaining to children flying alone, but they are still not sure what happened when Robert got on a different airline.
