One Shot, Two Injured In Chapel Hill Club Incidents

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — One man was shot and two other people were injured in melees that broke out as a Chapel Hill club closed early Saturday.

Authorities said the incident occurred outside the Chi Hi Club at

136 E. Rosemary Street

around 1 a.m. According to authorities, a fight broke out inside the club as it was being cleared at closing time.

An unknown object struck one employee who was trying to stop the incident. Another person was punched in the mouth during the fight.

The man who authorities said delivered the blows now faces charges for both assaults.

According to authorities, an unknown male fired four to five shots in the parking lot of the club shortly afterward.

The 23-year-old shooting victim was shot in his right calf and was transported to UNC Hospital.

Another bullet hole was found in a window at the Bank of America behind the parking lot.

Authorities said that they have not yet identified possible suspects in the shooting.
