ATLANTA, GA. — EarthLink
is among the new investors that are part of a $130 million funding in Maryland-based Current.
Current
is developing broadband-over-powerline technology as well as what it calls "smart grid" technology designed to improve electrical grids.
EarthLink will be the retail provider for Current's broadband services.
Original investors in Current include Duke Energy. Current is based in Germantown, MD.
