Security Cameras Installed At Wake County Elementary, Middle Schools

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — All 77 elementary and 22 middle schools in Wake County have "Big Brother" watching.
The school system completed the installation of the cameras over the past year.
Parents like Charles Barnes said they had no complaints about the heightened security.
"There's so many people coming in and doing all types of things -- harming children and coming in and kidnapping children, I think it's good they have the best security they possibly can get," he says.
The camera systems cost about $3,000 per elementary school and $15,000 per middle school. Wake County Public Schools says it records the surveillance video on tape.
