Two Killed In Separate Fayetteville Wrecks

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville authorities are investigating two fatal overnight accidents.

The first wreck happened around 1 a.m. on Santa Fe Drive. Police say a speeding car lost control, crossed the centerline and hit a taxi head-on. The cab driver, 38-year-old Jimmy Locklear, was killed. Charges are pending in the incident.

The second fatal accident happened around midnight on Granger Place. Police say 26-year-old Adam Cantrell was speeding when his motorcycle hit the curb and ran off the road. He was not wearing a helmet.
