RALEIGH, N.C. — Two Raleigh middle school students who were reported missing on Thursday were found safe in Alabama on Friday night.
On Friday afternoon, Raleigh police issued a news release asking for the public's assistance in finding Maggie Gurrea, 13, and Amanda Maynard, 14.
A Raleigh police spokesman said Saturday that the two girls, both students at Heritage Middle School, were found in Alabaster, Ala., with 17-year-old Ryan Gibson.
Gibson's relationship to the two girls was not immediately known.
Authorities have said they do not suspect foul play in the girls' disappearance, but were still investigating.
