DURHAM, N.C. — The suspicious death of a young Durham mother remains unsolved, one year after she was found stabbed to death in her home.

Police investigators have said that they do not think 25-year-old Janet Abaroa's death was random, but have yet to name any suspects or make an arrest in the case.

Abaroa's husband, Raven Abaroa, found his wife dead inside their home at 2606 Ferrand Drive around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Their 6-month-old son, Kaiden, who was also in the home, was uninjured. An autopsy later showed that the victim was pregnant.

Investigators spent nearly 24 hours collecting evidence from the house and family vehicle, including knives, a cell phone and financial items, including a checkbook and loan papers.

is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
