Durham Woman Accused Of Scam Has Bail Raised

print friendly

The woman charged with scamming a number of Latinos in Durham was in court Thursday, and remains in jail Friday.

Prosecutors say Natalie Gonzalez pretended to be a lawyer so she could help the Hispanic community --- but really just helped herself.

The judge raised her bail from $5,000 to $25,000, and that is cash only.

Gonzalez was arrested in Georgia and returned to Durham. She previously ran a business called "Justice for the Peace."
