Rain Causing Problems on Triangle Roads

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Heavy morning rain is causing quite a mess along Triangle roads Friday.

An ambulance with a patient inside was reported stuck in the mud on the Durham Freeway at T.W. Alexander around 7:25 a.m.

The Highway Patrol warns drivers to drive with caution this morning.

Water is receding in many areas in Wake County, but several roads are still causing problems:

Flooded Roads:

  • Wycliff at Lake Boone
  • Poole Road ay Sunnybrook
  • Durham Freeway at TW Alexander
  • WRAL Meteorologist says the rain is tapering off in Wake County as it moves into Johnston County.

There is a potential for more flooding and for the rain to be heavy as it moves through to Cumberland, Sampson and Wayne counties.

The rain is moving east south east. A cold front is moving through the Triangle, and the rain will taper off from the Triangle north, with showers to the south throughout the day.
