Durham Dropout Rates Decline

DURHAM — Fewer students are dropping out of

Durham Public Schools

. The school system is reporting a 30 percent decline in the dropout rate last year as compared to the year before.

During the 2000-2001 school year, 513 students called it quits. That is 218 fewer than the 731 students who dropped out the previous year.

With 102 dropouts, Jordan High School lost the most students.
