YOUNGSVILLE, N.C. — A Youngsville man was arrested Thursday and charged with the death of his 5-week-old baby.
State and local authorities arrested Jason Johns Bertrand, 23, of Youngsville and charged him with second-degree murder.
Youngsville rescue workers were dispatched to Bertrand's home on Saturday and took the baby to WakeMed with suspicious injuries, Youngsville police said.
The baby died on Monday.
Bertrand is out of jail on $125,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court on Friday.
