<b>YOUNGSVILLE, N.C.</b> — A Franklin County man will go to court Thursday after being charged with killing his 5-week-old son.

Authorities arrested 23-year-old Jason Bertrand, of Hampton Lane in Youngsville.

Over the weekend, an EMS crew responded to Bertrand's home after receiving a call that the baby was hurt. Investigators say the child had suspicious injuries.

The baby died Monday. Bertrand is charged with second-degree murder.
