N.C. Idol Contestants Get Mixed Reviews

Posted Updated

HOLLYWOOD, CA — The top seven "American Idol" contestants, including two from North Carolina, performed Rod Stewart renditions during Tuesday's competition.

The judges had positive feedback for McLeansville's Chris Daughtry, who performed, "What a Wonderful World." Judge Randy Jackson said Daughtry "showed a sensitive side" and his performance was "the bomb."

Judge Paula Abdul said Daughtry's rendition proves that he is "in it to win it" and he did a fantastic job.

Kellie Pickler of Albemarle performed "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered." Abdul commented on Pickler's fashion sense, but she also said that Pickler was ahead of the music near the end.

Judge Simon Cowell said it was a boring song and it did not suit her.

Wednesday night, one contestant will perform for the last time on the "American Idol" stage. You can find out who is staying and who is going at 9 p.m. on FOX 50.
