Authorities Seek Public's Help To Find Missing Rest Home Resident

SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Sampson County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to find a missing man.

Authorities say Delbert Mooring walked away from a rest home in the Ivanhoe community of Sampson County on April 6 and has not been seen since.

Officials say Mooring voluntarily left the facility, however, he has a mental condition that creates concern for his safety.

Mooring is described as being a 48-year-old black male, measuring approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair and was last seen wearing a tan hat, camouflage pants and tennis shoes.

Mooring has family members and friends in Pitt County. However, they have not had contact with him and they are concerned for his safety. Anyone with any information about Mooring's whereabouts is asked to contact the Sampson County Sheriff's Office at
