Intersouth Co-Leads $1.75M Round in Software Startup

DURHAM, N.C. — Intersouth Partners

of Durham has teamed up with Amplifier Venture Partners to co-lead a $1.75 million seed round of financing for a Virginia-based software startup.

FlatBurger

, which is based in Vienna VA, is focused on business infrastructure software. The money is the first outside funding raised by the company.

Don Rainer of Intersouth and Jonathan Aberman of Amplifer joined FlatBurger's board as part of the deal.

FlatBurger provides support for open source software developers with an emphasis on DotNetNuke which is a framework for development of web applications.

FlatBurger's co-founders are Bill Phelan, who helped create FTD.com and OneMade, a developer of online auction tools that was acquired by America Online, and Bob Smith, founder of AOL's Digital Cities.
